Becoming A Better Person

TOPIC: Becoming A Better Person

FOUNDATION SCRIPTURE: Ephesians 4:29-32 (NKJV)
29. Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers. 30. And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. 31. Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, and evil speaking be put away from you, with all malice. 32. And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Renew Your Mind

Many years ago, it became clear that the best way to change my life was to change my thinking. Patterns of thinking control life, and because I desired a different life, I changed what I did from day to day by changing my thinking pattern.

There is no way to stop a thinking pattern without replacing it with another. The Biblical term for this is to renew your mind (Ephesians 4:23), which happens when we meditate on the Word of God.

It is good to read the Bible, but God wants us to say it aloud to ourselves and within ourselves over and over until His Word becomes a part of our thinking.

Joshua 1:8 (AMP) This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall read [and meditate on] it day and night, so that you may be careful to do [everything] in accordance with all that is written in it; for then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will be successful.

Meditating the following Scripture passage helped me become a better person and attract better relationships. I uprooted negative thought patterns that seemed to weigh me down in life and draw me to people that were not good for me. It also changed thought patterns I didn’t know I had.

I encourage you to try it for 30 days and document its changes in you.

Ephesians 4:25-32 (AMP) 25. Therefore, rejecting all falsehood [whether lying, defrauding, telling half-truths, spreading rumors, any such as these], speak truth each one with his neighbor, for we are all parts of one another [and we are all parts of the body of Christ]. 26. Be angry [at sin—at immorality, at injustice, at ungodly behavior], yet do not sin; do not let your anger [cause you shame, nor allow it to] last until the sun goes down. 27. And do not give the devil an opportunity [to lead you into sin by holding a grudge, or nurturing anger, or harboring resentment, or cultivating bitterness]. 28. The thief [who has become a believer] must no longer steal, but instead he must work hard [making an honest living], producing that which is good with his own hands, so that he will have something to share with those in need. 29. Do not let unwholesome [foul, profane, worthless, vulgar] words ever come out of your mouth, but only such speech as is good for building up others, according to the need and the occasion, so that it will be a blessing to those who hear [you speak]. 30. And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God [but seek to please Him], by whom you were sealed and marked [branded as God's own] for the day of redemption [the final deliverance from the consequences of sin]. 31. Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor [perpetual animosity, resentment, strife, fault-finding] and slander be put away from you, along with every kind of malice [all spitefulness, verbal abuse, malevolence]. 32. Be kind and helpful to one another, tenderhearted [compassionate, understanding], forgiving one another [readily and freely], just as God in Christ also forgave you.

Remember this: Meditating God’s Word is the way to a renewed mind and better life.

2 Corinthians 9:6-8
But this I say: He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work.

Notice: Until you are born again (from above), you will never know the riches of God's love and tender mercy towards you. You must be born again to enjoy lasting victory in this world. Please say the displayed prayer below in faith:

Dear Lord, I come to You now, just as I am.  You know my life.  You know how I've lived.  Forgive me, Lord.  I repent of my sins.  I believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God, that He died for my sins, and on the third day, He rose from the dead. Lord Jesus, I ask you to come into my heart.  Live Your life in me and through me from now on.  From this day forward, I belong to You, in the Name of Jesus, Amen."

The very moment you commit your life to Jesus Christ, the truth of His Word instantly comes to pass in your spirit. If you prayed that prayer and meant it from your heart, a miracle has just taken place in your life, and there's a brand-new you! CONGRATULATIONS! Welcome to the Kingdom of God.

Please contact us and tell us that you've prayed to receive Jesus as your Savior.
