God's Assurance

Devotions by Jason Hale

TOPIC: God’s Assurance

FOUNDATION SCRIPTURE: Job 42:1-2 (NKJV) 1. Then Job answered the LORD and said: 2. “I know that You can do everything, and that no purpose of Yours can be withheld from You.”

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:
What God says He will do, consider it done.

In another version, Job answered the Lord and said, “I know that You can do all things, and that no thought or purpose of yours can be thwarted or hindered.”

What God says He will do, consider it done. Nothing can hinder, restrain or stop Him from bringing it to pass.

In Luke chapter 1, the angel Gabriel appeared to a priest named Zacharias and said that his wife Elizabeth will give birth to John The Baptist. Zacharias asked for confirmation since he and his wife were really old and she was barren all of her life. Gabriel seemed to take offense to the request and said to him, “I am Gabriel, who stands in the presence of God, and was sent to speak to you and bring you these glad tidings. But behold, you will be mute and not able to speak until the day these things take place, because you did not believe my words which will be fulfilled in their own time.”

In other words, Gabriel was saying, “What God says He will do, consider it done. His words will be fulfilled in their own time, not yours.”

Then, when his son was born, and after he wrote on a piece of paper that the child’s name was John, Zacharias was able to speak again.

The Apostle Paul understood the assurance that comes from God when speaking of Abraham and wrote in Romans 4:17 (NKJV) (as it is written, “I have made you a father of many nations”) in the presence of Him whom he believed—God, who gives life to the dead and calls those things which do not exist as though they did.

When God speaks, His Word carries the power to become whatever He said. When God speaks, it is history spoken in advance. When God says a thing, it is not something that is about to happen, it is something that is history waiting to happen. It's a done deal. It's a completed action waiting to take place in its own time.

Isaiah 55:8-11 (NKJV) “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways My ways,” says the LORD. 9. “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts. 10. “For as the rain comes down, and the snow from heaven, and do not return there, but water the earth, and make it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower and bread to the eater, 11. So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; it shall not return to Me void, but it shall accomplish what I please, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.

God said it Himself, that His Word will never return to Him empty, but will achieve what He desires and will succeed where He sends it.

If you are believing God for something, keep praying and asking until He confirms He will do it. Once you get assurance, you can stop praying for it and start thanking Him for it.

God doesn’t need man’s help to do what He says He will do, so be careful not to get in the way and cause a delay to your answer. He won’t share His glory with anyone. His ways are far above our ways. He can do things so much better than we can. We just need to trust Him, no matter what the circumstance look like.

Whenever I start feeling weak in faith for something I am believing God for, I just look at my confirmation number - 42319. The number 4 is the fourth book in the Bible which is the book of Numbers. The 23rd chapter and the 19th verse.

Numbers 23:19 (NKJV) “God is not a man, that He should lie, nor a son of man, that He should repent. Has He said, and will He not do? Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good?

In another version it says, God is not a man and cannot lie. Neither is He a son of man, that He should change His mind. Has He said and will He not do it? Or has He spoken, and shall He not bring it to pass?

What God says He will do, consider it done. If it hasn’t happened, it’s because He hasn’t done it yet. Keep believing. Keep trusting.

I decree that your faith shall not fail. You shall believe until you receive what God said He would do, in Jesus’ Name.

Remember this: The angel Gabriel was offended that Zacharias doubted and didn’t believe in his heart what God said would come to pass.

ASSIGNMENTS:

  1. Quiet your mind and wait on God for at least 5 minutes, then immediately write down your thoughts afterward.
  2. Go through today’s message again.
  3. Ask the Lord to reveal Himself to you.
  4. Study the Word of God every day. Ask God for insight into His character and examples of His faithfulness.
  5. Make up your mind to trust what God has promised over what the current circumstances appear to be.

PRAYER: Lord, thank You for Your Word to me today. I ask for Your help to remind me, in times of weakness, that You cannot lie and You won’t change Your mind. If You have said You will do it, I can consider it done, in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

You may give easily and securely using the Giving tab below on the app or the Give page on our website. May God bless you according to His promise in the scripture below.

2 Corinthians 9:6-8
But this I say: He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work.

Notice: Until you are born again (from above), you will never know the riches of God's love and tender mercy towards you. You must be born again to enjoy continuous victory in this world. Please say the displayed prayer below in faith:

Dear Lord, I come to You now, just as I am.  You know my life.  You know how I've lived.  Forgive me Lord.  I repent of my sins.  I believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God,  that He died for my sins and on the third day,  He was raised from the dead.  Lord Jesus, I ask you to come into my heart.  Live Your life in me and through me from now on.  From this day forward, I belong to You, in the Name of Jesus, Amen."

The very moment you commit your life to Jesus Christ, the truth of His Word instantly comes to pass in your spirit. If you prayed that prayer and meant it from your heart, a miracle has just taken place in your life and there’s a brand-new you!  CONGRATULATIONS! Welcome to the Kingdom of God.

Please contact us and let us know that you’ve prayed to receive Jesus as your Savior.
